The Story of Our Dali Espadrilles
There are certain pieces in a wardrobe that aren't just seasonal – but timeless. Shoes that carry with them not only beauty and craftsmanship, but also a story. Our Dali Espadrilles are one such piece: a celebration of Spanish heritage, artisanal skill, and the vibrant eccentricity of one of the 20th century's most iconic artists, Salvador Dalí.
Rooted in history yet unmistakably modern in sensibility, our Dali espadrilles are a style that invites the wearer into a world of colour and creativity.
A Legacy of Craft
Espadrilles have long been cherished for their comfort, breathability, and effortless versatility. Originally worn by farmers and fishermen across the Pyrenees, these traditional shoes have evolved over centuries to become a summer staple among the style-conscious across Europe and beyond.
Still today, the true espadrille is hand-crafted, stitched, shaped and bound with care. Our Dali espadrilles are no exception. Each pair is made in Murcia, Spain, where skilled artisans employ time-honoured techniques to ensure every shoe is imbued with the authenticity and quality of its heritage.
An Artist's Signature
The Dali Espadrille is named in homage to Salvador Dalí, the Spanish surrealist painter whose influence continues to shape the vision of our founder, Penelope. Known for his vivid imagination, dramatic personal style, and unapologetic eccentricity, Dalí was also a man of deeply rooted tradition.
Throughout the warmer months, Dalí was almost never seen without his lace-up espadrilles, favouring their unpretentious elegance and natural ease. They were, to him, not just practical footwear, but an extension of his identity – relaxed yet deliberate, bold yet grounded. It is this spirit that inspired the creation of our Dali espadrilles.

A Contemporary Interpretation
In our interpretation of this beloved silhouette, we have honoured both craft and colour. Our Dali espadrilles feature a single piece of velvet ribbon, threaded delicately through a breathable cotton upper – creating a striking contrast in tone and texture. The ribbon nods to Dalí's own flair for the romantic, while the restrained form keeps the style timeless and wearable.
Each pair is vibrant, sculptural, and undeniably refined – an expression of individuality that remains rooted in artisanal tradition and designed with comfort in every step.
Effortless Versatility
While bold in appearance, our Dali espadrilles maintain the ease and practicality that have long made this style a summer staple. Lightweight, breathable, and effortlessly comfortable, they're made for warm-weather days that call for grace without the fuss.
