Penelope Chilvers US Road Trip
Massachusetts
27 & 28 November
With their bags packed and spirits high, Penelope, her daughter and our Content Creation Manager Gemma, and our Wholesale & Partnerships Assistant Manager Natalia, took off from London for our first ever Penelope Chilvers US Road Trip!
Touching down in Boston, their first order of business was to collect the massive 13-seater van that would be their trusted companion for the road ahead.
They then made their way to North Shore near Hamilton, driving past some of the most sweet and charming houses in the area, ending up at Cai-Cai’s house. She is the owner of our stockist, Copper Shed, and welcomed our team with open arms into her beautiful home.
On Day 2 they visited two of our stockists in Massachusetts, Copper Shed and Sole Amour, to see first-hand our collection of women’s boots and shoes they had to offer. An exciting opportunity for our team to meet the people who support Penelope Chilvers in the United States.
For dinner, the lovely Cai-Cai invited 30 of her top customers who all came dressed to the nines in their favourite Penelope Chilvers women’s boots and shoes – a wonderful sight to see so many women in one room wearing PC! Penelope expressed her deep gratitude for the love and support of the brand with an impromptu speech, followed with a night of delicious food and scintillating conversations.
29 November – Myopia Hunt Club, Hamilton, Boston Trunk Show
The team took off for their first trunk show at the Myopia Hunt Club in Hamilton, Boston, MA. Penelope gave a presentation to the club members, then the team were able to meet some of our existing customers, and a lot of new ones too. Boots, and shoes were flying everywhere, with everyone wanting to try on their favourite PC!
We showcased our Penelope Chilvers Heritage collection made using Spanish artisanal techniques, and other women’s boots and shoes from our latest collection. The crowd favourites were our Incredible Boots, a must-have for winter; our Gamine Shoes, the ultimate Christmas party shoe; and our Inuit slippers, lined with wool for optimum cosiness.
30 November - The Brookline Country Club Trunk Show
Next stop was The Brookline Country Club, who very generously invited Penelope, Gemma, and Natalia to stay at their prestigious hotel. Founded in 1882, this is one of the oldest country clubs in the United States and is now renowned across the country.
Here they hosted the second trunk show of the trip with 50 members of The Country Club in attendance. Each person was gifted one of our woollen socks as an accessory and were given the opportunity to shop our latest collection of women’s boots and shoes.
The Idaho Quilted Shearling-Lined Boot was loved by many, with a knee-high length wool-lined feature for ultimate warmth. Another favourite style was the Long Inclement Tassel Boot from our heritage collection.
The team then began their three-hour journey south to our next stop… Connecticut!
