Penelope Chilvers at the Chelsea Flower Show
After a successful, vibrant showcase of our shoe shed concept last year, we returned to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for the second year running. This year's 'Patio Andaluz' concept drew inspiration from the central patios that lie behind every beautiful Andalusian façade. Awash with light from the sky and abundant with greenery, these tranquil terraces provide a welcome space to retreat to on the warmest of summer evenings.

Created in collaboration with Kitten Grayson – flower designer, gardener and founder of her eponymous design studio – the stand featured greenery cascading from terracotta pots and bespoke 1960s-inspired tiles painted by specialist painter Queenie Ingrams.

"The choice to work with Kitten to convey our love of Spain through floral design was an effortless one. Her seasonal displays incorporate dried flowers, foraged materials and living plants for optimum sustainability. The way she works feels very familiar to me, and almost reminiscent of how our factories and workshops operate – with a deep appreciation for the materials they work with." –Penelope Chilvers
Also on display at the stand was a curation of pieces from our high summer collection – perhaps most fittingly our three new satin espadrille styles – the Mary Jane, the High Gala and the Alegra – all of which feature bespoke floral embroidery designed by a talented community of female artisans.
As Chelsea bloomed, our customers at our Elizabeth Street and Kings Road stores enjoyed complimentary flower bouquets with their purchases and world-class sparkling wine from Balfour Winery while they shopped. For those that were unable to join us, Balfour Winery's vineyards, apple orchards and ancient oak woodlands are open all summer long for tours and tasting experiences.

We cherish the opportunity to connect and share our pieces. Be sure to visit our Events page to hear about upcoming in-person experiences.
