The classic novel, I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith provided inspiration for Penelope this season. Written during the Second World War, the novel captures British eccentricity, an outdoor life, self-sufficiency, optimism and adventure!

We set the scene for our Pre AW21 collection in an enchanting walled garden, deep in the lush green Wiltshire countryside. Penelope and her daughters join friends for a very British affair – a quintessential tea party of scones and Victoria Sponge, surrounded by a menagerie of ducklings, chickens, horses and resident beekeeper! As the perfect antidote to the past year, it’s time for some good, old-fashioned fun and laughter. So, in high spirits, not to be dampened by the odd summer shower, this shoot tells the tale of our new Pre AW21 designs being worn exactly as they were intended – in the great outdoors, carefree and with purpose.
This is a celebration of family and friends, reunited after a year of separation and uncertainty. This is the summer to honour love and friendship with an appreciation for the world we live in, and with a promise that we will care for it.
